Data Platform Application Developer (Bangkok-based, 6-month Contract)

Agoda is seeking a Data Platform Application Developer for a 6-month contract position based in Bangkok, Thailand. This role involves developing robust backend systems and architecting scalable data pipelines to support complex data collection, processing, and analysis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing Agoda's financial technology solutions and driving informed business decisions through reliable data insights.

Key responsibilities include overseeing the full product lifecycle, from business requirements and technology selection to coding standards and agile development. The developer will design, develop, and maintain platforms and data pipelines, ensuring systems are stable, scalable, and high-performing. Additional duties involve mentoring team members, collaborating across departments, and contributing to the recruitment and onboarding of exceptional talent.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Java, Scala, and Python, along with proficiency in big data technologies such as Hadoop and real-time processing frameworks like Apache Spark. Advanced knowledge of SQL and data architecture is essential. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to adapt to new changes. Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies and excellent English communication skills are also required.
