Customer Service - Self Storage Manager
Public Storage, the leading provider in the self-storage industry, is seeking a Customer Service - Self Storage Manager to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work independently across multiple locations, both indoors and outdoors, within a flexible full-time schedule. As a Property Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining our facilities to the highest standards.
In this position, your primary responsibilities will include assessing customer storage needs and providing appropriate solutions, such as recommending packing and moving supplies. You will conduct daily inspections of storage units to ensure inventory accuracy and readiness for rental. Managing cash drawers, performing bank deposits, and assisting customers with payment reminders and collections are also key aspects of the role. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and curb appeal of the property through regular cleaning and maintenance tasks.
The ideal candidate will have experience in customer service-oriented sales environments, such as retail, restaurant, or other service-based industries. A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required, as the role involves traveling between different work locations and conducting work-related tasks. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 35 pounds and spending up to 50% of the time in outdoor environments, which may involve climbing stairs and opening large doors.
Compensation for this role is $17.00 per hour, with opportunities to earn performance-based bonuses. Employees working an average of 20 or more hours per week become eligible for full-time benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, paid time off, sick time, and flexible spending accounts. Mileage reimbursement is provided when traveling between properties or for other work-related tasks.
