DeChant Law, a leading criminal defense firm based in Denver, Colorado, is seeking a Criminal Defense Paralegal to support two attorneys handling a high volume of cases. The firm specializes in a comprehensive range of criminal defense areas, including DUI, drug crimes, assault, and white-collar offenses. This remote position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in criminal defense seeking to contribute to a dynamic and growing team.
In this role, the paralegal will manage 60–70 criminal defense cases from initiation to conclusion, ensuring meticulous adherence to legal procedures. Responsibilities include serving as the primary contact point for clients, addressing inquiries via text, email, and calls, and efficiently organizing attorney calendars and client meetings. The paralegal will also be responsible for organizing and filing essential case documents, including motions and discovery, and utilizing CRM systems like Clio and Case Status to maintain accurate case records and client communications.
Candidates should have 2–3 years of experience in U.S. legal settings, ideally within criminal defense environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, with proficiency in Spanish strongly preferred. Technical proficiency with Clio Manage, Case Status, Google Workspace, and similar software is required. A high attention to detail, especially concerning DUI technicalities and documentation, and the ability to work independently while managing a high-volume caseload with minimal oversight are crucial.
