Courtroom Audio/Visual Technology Integrator
The Minnesota Judicial Branch is seeking a Courtroom Audio/Visual Technology Integrator to manage and enhance the audio and visual systems across all courtrooms, remote hearing rooms, and conference rooms within the Seventh Judicial District. This role involves designing, installing, analyzing, programming, modifying, and testing various audio and visual equipment, including sound systems, digital court reporting systems, assisted listening devices, court interpreter equipment, video conferencing systems, remote hearing technology, and telephone systems. The position also entails project management responsibilities and coordination with multiple vendors on courtroom technology upgrades and integration projects.
Key responsibilities include ensuring that all courtrooms have fully functioning audio and visual systems, collaborating with business teams and judge units to understand courtroom operations and implement technology solutions that enhance capabilities and efficiency, and coordinating with other district AV peers on courtroom technology standards and trends. The integrator will also work with judicial officers, staff, and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve courtroom technology issues, respond to service desk tickets related to audio/visual matters, and provide on-site repair, reconfiguration, adjustments, and equipment replacement. Additional duties involve advising management on needs, objectives, and capabilities, coordinating warranty work and maintenance agreements, performing regular preventative maintenance, devising security mechanisms to protect hardware and software resources, creating and maintaining system documentation, and managing projects associated with courtroom technology.
The ideal candidate will possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as travel to Seventh District locations is required. A Bachelor's Degree in MIS/Computer Science, Information Systems, Audio Visual Engineering/Production, or a closely related field is preferred. Alternatively, an Associate’s degree in a related field combined with 4+ years of direct experience in the A/V industry is acceptable. Preferred qualifications include experience integrating multiple functions of sound amplification, digital recording, audio and video conferencing using a digital signal processor such as QSYS products, knowledge and experience working with Minnesota State government IT departments, excellent customer service skills, knowledge of theories and practices related to audio and visual technology tools, awareness of technology industry trends, effective communication skills both orally and in writing, the ability to translate technical terminology into terms understandable to non-technical employees, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with confidential and sensitive information.
