[Coupang] Principal, Legal Counsel (CIC Legal)

Coupang is seeking a Principal Legal Counsel to support its Coupang Intelligent Cloud (CIC) division, focusing on AI cloud computing services. This role involves providing legal guidance in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with various teams to implement solutions and achieve results.

Key responsibilities include leading and executing technology and commercial transactions, drafting and negotiating complex agreements in both English and Korean, and collaborating with departments such as Procurement, Engineering, Security, and Compliance. The role also involves advising on legal issues related to cloud services and AI development, managing third-party legal risks, and developing policies and procedures for vendor contracts.

The ideal candidate is a qualified lawyer in the U.S., Korea, or a common law jurisdiction with over six years of post-qualification experience in both in-house and private practice settings. Experience in negotiating commercial agreements across supply chain, enterprise hardware and software, data center and cloud services, and professional services is essential. Familiarity with AI and large language model-related legal issues, including data use restrictions and intellectual property rights, is also required. Full professional fluency in English and Korean is necessary.
