Counsel, Telecommunications (Starlink)

As a Telecommunications Counsel at xAI, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the Starlink team through the complex landscape of telecommunications laws and regulations across Europe and parts of Africa. Your expertise will ensure that Starlink's satellite internet services comply with regional legal requirements, facilitating the company's mission to provide low-latency broadband worldwide.

In this role, you will advise on laws, regulations, and policies affecting telecommunications and internet services in the specified regions. You will analyze legal and regulatory risks, communicate them to business and technical teams, and support compliance decisions and licensing processes. Additionally, you will monitor legal and policy developments and interface with governmental agencies on regulatory, consumer protection, and law enforcement matters.

To be considered, you should have over five years of professional experience in regulatory compliance within the telecommunications industry, particularly concerning broadband and satellite services. A Juris Doctor, Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent degree from an accredited institution is required, along with an active license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction. Fluency in French and/or Portuguese is preferred, as is prior experience managing legal issues for a high-growth multinational company.

This full-time position is based in London, England, and requires on-site presence; remote and hybrid work arrangements are not considered. Candidates must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed. While specific compensation details are not provided, the estimated annual salary ranges from approximately $155,000 to $322,000.
