Counsel II
Affirm is seeking a Counsel II to join its Commercial Legal (Revenue) team, which plays a pivotal role in structuring, drafting, and negotiating global commercial agreements. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with Affirm's rapidly expanding sales, partnerships, and merchant success teams, contributing to the company's mission of providing transparent and consumer-friendly financial products.
In this role, the Counsel II will be responsible for managing a diverse range of complex and innovative commercial agreements. Key duties include providing strategic legal advice to cross-functional teams such as sales, product, finance, tax, customer operations, and risk. The role also involves leading initiatives to enhance internal processes, developing and refining templates for revenue-generating agreements, and addressing legal issues in existing domestic and international commercial relationships.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution and be a current member in good standing of a U.S. state bar. A minimum of five years of experience in complex commercial drafting and negotiation, particularly with revenue-generating contracts, is required. Strong project management skills, the ability to handle multiple concurrent deals under tight deadlines, and excellent judgment in making business-focused decisions are essential. Experience with data privacy terms related to regulations such as CCPA, GLBA, and GDPR is also highly valued.
Affirm offers a competitive compensation package, with base salaries ranging from $180,000 to $230,000 annually for positions in California, Washington, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, and from $160,000 to $210,000 in other U.S. states.
