The Corporate Legal Counsel will be part of GenScript's mid-sized in-house legal team, focusing on U.S. legal and compliance matters. This role is based in Piscataway, New Jersey, requiring on-site presence four days a week.

The Corporate Legal Counsel will be responsible for reviewing contracts and providing legal support to business units in the U.S. markets. Key duties include conducting legal research on assigned issues, utilizing legal research platforms like LexisNexis and AI tools, coordinating with the Corporate Secretary's office to support corporate organizational tasks for U.S. legal entities, and staying updated on laws, regulations, and relevant cases related to biotechnology, technology, life sciences, and employment for compliance purposes. Additional responsibilities encompass managing litigation cases, assisting with internal investigations, coordinating with HR and external law firms on employment-related immigration and visa matters, and other tasks as assigned by the supervising attorney.

Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and 5-10 years of legal experience as a New Jersey Licensed Lawyer, either with a law firm or an in-house legal team. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential, along with strong verbal and written communication skills in English. The ideal candidate should be motivated, committed to performing thorough groundwork, and eager to grow in the legal field.

The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000, based on experience level.
