Corporate Counsel
As Corporate Counsel at Gas South, you will handle a wide range of legal matters and advise on associated risks. You will join a close-knit team of attorneys and legal professionals supporting the largest competitive natural gas marketer in the Southeast, all within a culture that puts people first and strives to Be a Fuel For Good.
Your key responsibilities will include preparing, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, master service agreements, vendor contracts, guarantees, letters of credit, and confidentiality agreements. You will consult with company management and specialized individual contributors to provide accurate, relevant, and timely advice on various legal topics related to corporate law, the energy industry, and the company’s products and services. Additionally, you will establish and implement best practices for the legal protection of intellectual property rights, serve as a liaison with external counsel on specialized matters and potential litigation, and stay updated with changes in laws and regulations affecting the business and industry.
The ideal candidate is an active member in good standing of a U.S. state bar, with Florida or Georgia Bar membership preferred. You should have approximately 2+ years of legal experience in corporate, transactional, regulatory, or comparable fields of law, with experience in the energy industry, government, or military being a plus. Proficiency with generative AI tools for legal work, such as contract review or AI-assisted research and drafting, is a core requirement for this role. Informal or self-directed experience with these tools is acceptable.
Gas South offers a competitive salary range of $98,106 to $109,648 USD, commensurate with education, experience, specialized skills, or certifications.
