Construction QC Manager (Two Month Contract)
The Construction Quality Control (QC) Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all quality control activities on construction projects to ensure compliance with contract specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role ensures that all materials, workmanship, and construction processes meet established quality standards while supporting project timelines and budgets. This position is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm as a two month contract.
Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and maintaining the project-specific Quality Control Plan (QCP); ensuring all construction activities comply with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes; conducting daily inspections of work in progress to verify adherence to quality standards; coordinating and performing three phases of control: preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections; reviewing and approving submittals, shop drawings, material certifications, and test reports; managing and tracking non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective/preventive actions; serving as the primary liaison with clients, inspectors, and third-party testing agencies regarding quality matters; scheduling and coordinating inspections with local authorities and regulatory agencies; maintaining accurate and up-to-date quality control documentation and reports; leading quality meetings and providing guidance to project teams on quality expectations; supporting project closeout activities, including punch lists and final inspections; and ensuring compliance with safety standards in coordination with the Safety Manager.
Required qualifications include a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction quality control management; a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality standards; proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications; excellent organizational and communication skills; and certifications such as OSHA 30-hour, USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM), or similar are preferred.
The position offers competitive hourly pay between $35 and $50, commensurate with experience. As a contract role, benefits may vary; candidates are encouraged to inquire about specific benefits during the interview process.
