Conflict Solicitor

The firm is seeking a Conflict Solicitor to join its Conflicts Team in Sydney, Australia. This team operates under the New Business and Enterprise Risk Department, focusing on managing conflicts of interest and information barriers worldwide.
In this role, the Conflict Solicitor will be responsible for advising on complex legal and commercial conflicts, liaising with partners and staff regarding conflicts issues, ensuring compliance with global sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering obligations, and reviewing, drafting, and advising on conflict provisions in firm engagement letters, policies, and other client agreements.
The ideal candidate will have been admitted to practice as a solicitor in Australia or another jurisdiction where Herbert Smith Freehills operates, with at least three years of post-admission experience. Strong research, technical, and analytical skills are essential, along with a proactive approach and the ability to adapt to competing demands in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are also required.
Herbert Smith Freehills offers a competitive salary range of $83,000 to $90,000 AUD per year for this position.
