Component Engineer - Electromechanical
Arista Networks is seeking a Component Engineer specializing in electromechanical systems to join our dynamic team. This role involves close collaboration with Design Engineers, Supply Chain Management, and New Product Introduction Engineers to identify and source components that meet our high standards for quality, reliability, and supply assurance. The Component Engineer will play a pivotal role in the successful launch and sustained production of Arista's innovative networking products.
Key responsibilities include providing technical and sourcing support to design engineers by researching and selecting components that align with performance, pricing, availability, and volume production requirements. The role also involves monitoring and resolving component lifecycle issues, assessing risk ratings in Agile based on various factors, and ensuring compliance with international and domestic agency requirements such as RoHS, REACH, and EMI/EMC standards. Additionally, the Component Engineer will administer engineering change orders and collaborate with suppliers to stay informed about technology roadmaps.
The ideal candidate will possess a BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience. Relevant experience in sourcing components and mechanical design of computer or network equipment intended for data centers is preferred. Proficiency in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and change order management processes is essential. Experience with tools such as ProEngineer (PTC Creo), Mechanica (PTC Creo Simulate), and familiarity with thermal simulation and airflow testing are advantageous. Hands-on experience with tests like shock, vibration, and EMC is also beneficial.
Arista offers a competitive base salary ranging from $120,000 to $180,000, depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and equity.
