The Commissioning II role at CannonDesign involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality building systems commissioning, focusing on mechanical and HVAC systems, controls, and operational readiness. This position requires both fieldwork, such as site walks and functional performance testing, and strong documentation and client-facing communication. The role is based in St. Louis, Missouri.

Key responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting construction documents, supporting the development and implementation of commissioning plans, executing functional performance tests for HVAC and mechanical systems, coordinating commissioning activities with various stakeholders, and maintaining accurate documentation. The role also involves performing job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.

Candidates should have a minimum of 4 years of experience in commissioning, HVAC system design, or building automation design. A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering is required, with a preference for degrees from an ABET-accredited program. A working knowledge of HVAC systems and terminology, including an understanding of controls/BAS sequences, is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills, teamwork, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects are also necessary.

The position requires approximately 50% travel to project sites and involves physical activities such as walking sites, climbing ladders/stairs, and accessing rooftops/mechanical spaces. Candidates must be committed to safety and quality, adhering to site safety requirements and working effectively in active construction environments.
