Insurify, a rapidly growing MIT FinTech startup headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join its expanding legal team. Recognized as one of America's fastest-growing private companies, Insurify leverages artificial intelligence and superior product design to revolutionize the insurance comparison, purchase, and management process. The Commercial Counsel will serve as a generalist attorney, providing legal expertise across commercial, marketing, and product domains.

In this role, the Commercial Counsel will draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including SaaS, insurance carrier, agency, and vendor contracts, managing the deal desk queue end-to-end. They will collaborate closely with the Marketing team to ensure compliance with advertising, marketing, and consumer protection laws, and with the Product team to review new features and AI-driven tools prior to launch. Additionally, the Commercial Counsel will structure and negotiate distribution and partnership agreements, such as carrier appointments and affiliate arrangements, and oversee the compliance of consumer-facing marketing materials with state consumer protection statutes.

Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and an active bar membership in good standing, with 4–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in-house or transactional. A proven track record in negotiating commercial, SaaS, and vendor agreements independently is essential. Familiarity with state consumer protection and unfair trade practice laws is required. Strong drafting, negotiation, and business judgment skills are necessary, along with the ability to operate with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment. Excellent cross-functional communication skills are crucial for effectively conveying legal risks to Commercial, Marketing, and Product stakeholders.

This hybrid position requires candidates to work from the Cambridge, MA office. The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $1,320,000 to $1,550,000 per year, plus bonus and equity.
