Carbon is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join its dynamic legal team in Sunnyvale, California. Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, this role will serve as a legal partner to the company's global sales team, focusing on drafting and negotiating complex sales agreements and supporting various commercial transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial law, particularly within the medical device industry, and a passion for innovative technology.

In this role, the Commercial Counsel will be responsible for drafting and negotiating complex sales agreements covering hardware, software, subscriptions, services, and materials. They will also build sales templates and negotiation playbooks, aiming to automate the sales process. Additional duties include drafting and negotiating vendor, consulting, resin supply, and joint development agreements, protecting the company's intellectual property, supporting international operations, reviewing marketing materials, assisting with litigation support, implementing compliance policies, and providing general legal support.

The ideal candidate will have over five years of relevant legal experience with complex commercial transactions, including at least two years in-house with a medical device company. They should possess effective interpersonal skills, expertise in counseling clients on commercial, compliance, clinical trial, and supply chain functions, and experience negotiating and drafting supply and vendor agreements. A law degree (JD or equivalent) with excellent academic credentials and a license to practice in California, or registration as In-House Counsel in California, is required.

The compensation for this position ranges from $158,400 to $237,600 per year, with a midpoint of $198,000, depending on experience and location. Carbon offers a comprehensive total rewards package, including equity, benefits, and time-off programs.
