Commercial Contracts Attorney
Jane Street is seeking an energetic and driven Commercial Contracts Attorney to join its growing Legal team in New York. This newly created role involves partnering with the Engineering, Facilities, and Procurement teams to provide strategic advice and risk management support within the firm's dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities include reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, such as office and data center leases, master services agreements, technology agreements—including hardware purchase and services agreements—cloud compute and software services agreements, and professional services agreements. The attorney will also support commercial contracts and procurement processes and advise Technology, Engineering, and other infrastructure teams on day-to-day contract issues across Jane Street's global offices.
The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in commercial contracts, particularly in areas like data center leases and services, as well as technology and professional services. A license to practice law in good standing in one or more U.S. states is required. Advanced knowledge of commercial contract law, experience with data centers and technology, strong writing and communication skills, and proficiency in incorporating AI into legal practices are essential. The candidate should be collaborative, organized, and proactive in process improvements, with experience working with engineering and procurement teams. Experience in intellectual property, data licensing, and AI is a plus, along with familiarity with contract management systems and legal review processes.
