CNC Programmer
Divergent is seeking a CNC Programmer to join our team in Torrance, California. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will play a pivotal role in producing precision components for automotive, aerospace, and defense applications. Divergent is revolutionizing manufacturing with our Adaptive Production System (DAPS), and this position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in a dynamic environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for the entire machining workflow, including process design, fixture design and fabrication, 5-axis CNC programming, machining, inspection, and general shop activities. You will execute advanced machining projects, develop machining strategies, select work-holding concepts, and provide design for manufacturability recommendations. Additionally, you will program, verify, and simulate 3+2 and 5-axis milling operations to manufacture suspension, powertrain, and chassis components.
The ideal candidate will have proficiency in CNC programming and machining, with a strong focus on 5-axis milling. Experience with Siemens NX for programming and CAD modeling is preferred. A strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and tooling is essential, along with familiarity with safety protocols in a machine shop environment. Expertise in designing fixtures and performing light fabrication using hand tools and manual mills/lathes is also required.
