Canonical is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to join its Alliances team. This role involves collaborating with major partners such as Intel, Nvidia, Google, Dell, HP, Accenture, and Tata to help them understand and adopt Canonical's open-source platform, Ubuntu, for their own use and for their customers. The position is home-based and open to candidates worldwide.

The Cloud Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud infrastructure solutions, including Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, and Spark, either on-premises or in public cloud environments like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Additionally, the role involves integrating popular open-source software such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra, and NGINX. The architect will assist partners in developing joint solutions utilizing Canonical's technologies, design and publish reference architectures, perform technical validations, and conduct onboarding sessions and workshops to promote Canonical's products and solutions.

Candidates should have extensive experience with Linux (preferably Ubuntu), Kubernetes, Ceph, and software automation. Experience in designing and implementing solutions on public or private clouds is essential. Proficiency in Python and Bash, along with strong troubleshooting skills, is required. Excellent communication and presentation skills, high motivation, and the ability to multi-task and reliably follow up on commitments are important. An interest in customer-facing engagement, including pitching, demonstrating, and understanding customer environments and needs, is desired. Familiarity with technologies like LXD, Juju, and Snaps is beneficial. A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field is required. The role may require up to 30% global travel.
