The Cloud Professional Services Manager at Canonical leads a team of engineers in delivering open-source solutions to clients across various industries. This role involves managing the Field Engineering team, which designs and implements cloud solutions such as Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other advanced platforms. The manager ensures that the team effectively supports customers in both public cloud environments and private data centers.

Key responsibilities include leading and developing a team of engineers ranging from graduate to senior levels, coaching and mentoring team members, and providing career development feedback. The manager is also responsible for implementing disciplined engineering processes, representing the team and products to stakeholders, partners, and customers, and collaborating with other leaders to plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects.

Candidates should possess knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies, such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, AWS, GCP, Azure, and Ceph. Practical knowledge of Linux and networking is essential, along with experience in technical presales. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, a passion for developing and growing people, and experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring engineers are also required. An exceptional academic track record from high school and, preferably, university is expected, as well as a willingness to travel up to 25% of the time for internal company events, external tech events, and customer meetings.
