Canonical is seeking a Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to lead its enterprise sales, sales development, partner, channel, alliance, customer success, and field engineering teams. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CRO will collaborate with senior leadership to drive sustainable growth. This role emphasizes strategic planning and operational execution, requiring a deep understanding of enterprise software markets and open-source dynamics.

Key responsibilities include developing and prioritizing go-to-market strategies, identifying organizational gaps, and leading recruitment efforts to address them. The CRO will oversee the creation of ambitious yet sustainable execution plans with clear metrics, regularly reviewing data to adjust strategies as needed. Additionally, the role involves supporting leaders in closing significant deals with major enterprises and tech partners, capturing and sharing customer and partner insights, supervising recruitment and onboarding processes, and fostering a culture of transparent communication and accountability.

The ideal candidate will possess a university degree, preferably in computer science or a STEM field, complemented by business disciplines. They should have progressive operational and leadership experience in high-growth, recurring revenue, and global technology firms. Experience in leading sales, partnership, or field engineering organizations to world-class performance, along with deep insights into the enterprise software and infrastructure markets, is essential. Additional valued skills include software engineering and architecture experience, industry insights on trends and competition, and an understanding of open-source history and strategy.
