Attorneys with strong leadership, business operations, or law firm management experience are encouraged to apply. The role requires demonstrated success in leading multi-location operations and managing through department leaders or managers in a complex, service-based organization. Candidates should be comfortable working with strong owner personalities, receiving direct feedback, and adapting communication style while maintaining confidence, sound judgment, and professionalism. Exceptional communication skills across all organizational levels, from team leaders to owners, are crucial. Strong business acumen and problem-solving abilities, with a deep understanding of cross-functional business operations and the capacity to identify inefficiencies, diagnose root causes, implement solutions, and measure results, are required.
This role offers a high-impact opportunity to shape the future of a respected law firm by leading crucial operational transitions. The COO will have direct access to collaborate with firm owners who are committed to stepping back into vision and strategy roles, ensuring that leadership translates into significant organizational impact. The position is based in Gainesville, Florida, with a hybrid work model; primarily onsite in Gainesville for the first 3–6 months, after which one or two remote days per week may be available. Periodic travel to other Florida offices is required.
