Reporting to the Director of APAC Channel Sales, this role involves both farming and hunting responsibilities, focusing on achieving assigned annual growth quotas. The successful candidate will identify, prospect, and engage reseller and distributor partners to build and maintain relationships, thereby expanding Canonical’s business within the assigned territory.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing channel strategies for distributors and resellers, increasing awareness of Canonical as a leader in Open Source and Cloud solutions, and identifying and recruiting new potential partners. The role also involves guiding partners through onboarding and enablement, developing mutually beneficial go-to-market plans, arranging and executing sales and pre-sales training, managing the channel pipeline through regular partner interactions, and acting as a trusted advisor and point of contact to support partner satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in a technology field, and have experience in software or technology sales within the specified market. Fluency in English and an understanding of open source, Linux, and Ubuntu are essential. The candidate should be a self-starter with a proven track record of achieving sales targets, detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills, and possess effective negotiating abilities. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, self-discipline, and self-motivation are also required. The ability to represent the company at external events and experience in a startup environment would be advantageous.

Canonical offers a distributed work environment with twice-yearly team sprints in person, a personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year, annual compensation reviews, recognition rewards, annual holiday leave, maternity and paternity leave, an Employee Assistance Programme, opportunities to travel to new locations to meet colleagues, and Priority Pass with travel upgrades for long-haul company events.

Canonical is a pioneering tech firm at the forefront of the global move to open source. As the publisher of Ubuntu, one of the most important open-source projects and the platform for AI, IoT, and the cloud, Canonical is changing the world of software. The company recruits globally and sets a high standard for its team members, expecting excellence to succeed. Most colleagues have worked from home since the company's inception in 2004, offering a step into the future that challenges individuals to think differently, work smarter, learn new skills, and raise their game.
