The Business Development Manager, Japan, will be responsible for driving revenue growth within the assigned territory by strategically and tactically selling Eurofins Discovery's comprehensive service and product portfolio. This role involves engaging with industrial and large academic institutions in the drug discovery industry, as well as Contract Research Organizations (CROs), utilizing consultative and technical sales strategies. The position is field-based, with a preference for candidates located in Tokyo or Osaka.

Key responsibilities include identifying and cultivating business relationships with new prospects and expanding connections within existing accounts through sales calls, lead follow-ups, on-site seminars, trade shows, and user meetings. The manager will be expected to demonstrate technical proficiency across the entire Eurofins Discovery service portfolio, offering consultative solutions that span multiple platforms. Additionally, the role involves coordinating customer visits with Eurofins Discovery scientists and specialists, adapting business development plans to align with the company's strengths and the unique needs of the territory, and maintaining accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities using CRM Dynamics 365.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant life science field, such as Pharmacology, Cell Biology, or Biochemistry. A basic understanding of the drug discovery and development process, particularly within the territory, is essential. Applicants must have at least five years of successful technical sales experience or equivalent, along with a solid understanding and experience in the preclinical CRO market. Fluency in both Japanese and English, excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, and the ability to respond effectively to scientific inquiries are also required. The role necessitates frequent travel within Japan and occasional travel to the USA, EU, or other parts of Asia for customer audits, team meetings, or training sessions.
