BQS Licensed Surveyor
Eurofins is seeking a Bunker Quantity Surveyor (BQS) to join our team in Singapore. The BQS will be responsible for conducting pre- and post-bunker surveys onboard vessels and at shore terminals. Key duties include accurately measuring fuel quantities using methods such as ullage, temperature, and density assessments, ensuring compliance with industry standards like ISO 22192:2021 during bunker operations, and preparing timely bunker survey reports. The role also involves acting as an independent verifier during fuel deliveries, investigating and resolving quantity discrepancies, liaising with vessel crews, suppliers, and port authorities, maintaining surveying equipment, and adhering to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards during site visits.
Candidates must hold a valid Bunker Quantity Surveyor (BQS) license and possess 2 to 5 years of experience in bunker quantity surveying or a related marine or oil and gas role. A strong understanding of marine fuel systems, tank calibration, and quantity measurement techniques is essential. Familiarity with maritime regulations and port authority procedures, excellent communication and reporting skills, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and a willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, based on operational needs, are also required.
Preferred qualifications include STCW Basic Safety Training certification, familiarity with mass flow meter (MFM) systems and relevant monitoring software, and proficiency in report writing and digital data collection tools.
