Board Test Engineer
As a Board Test Engineer at Graphcore, you will be integral to ensuring the reliability of our advanced circuit boards by developing and deploying comprehensive hardware tests. This role involves analyzing PCB designs for testability, identifying potential manufacturing defects, and creating test solutions that enhance product quality. You will collaborate closely with hardware design teams, manufacturing operations, and contract electronics manufacturers to bridge the gap between design concepts and practical implementation.
Your primary responsibilities will include developing board and PCBA hardware tests from initial design analysis to deployment, and supporting these tests in both factory and field environments. You will assess PCB testability and susceptibility to manufacturing defects, using this analysis to define and develop test solutions. Additionally, you will build boundary scan and embedded functional tests, transforming your understanding of board behavior into effective diagnostic tools.
The ideal candidate will possess strong fundamentals in electronics, particularly digital electronics, and have commercial experience in board or PCBA hardware testing. A solid understanding of manufacturing tests for advanced electronic systems, knowledge of surface-mount technology (SMT), PCB manufacturing processes, and their failure mechanisms is essential. Experience with automated optical inspection (AOI) and automated X-ray inspection (AXI) capabilities, along with the ability to diagnose electronic defects to the component level, is also required.
