Bare Metal Support Engineer
The Bare Metal Support Engineer at CoreWeave plays a pivotal role within the Customer Experience (CX) Organization, ensuring the seamless operation of the company's extensive GPU fleet across multiple data centers in the U.S., Europe, and beyond. This position is integral to maintaining the reliability and performance of CoreWeave's infrastructure, directly impacting the success of clients running AI workloads at scale.
Key responsibilities include providing high-level support for customers utilizing bare-metal GPU fleets on CoreWeave Cloud, diagnosing and investigating reported issues, and coordinating remote troubleshooting with data center technicians. The engineer will also develop a deep understanding of customer workloads to offer tailored technical support, create and maintain internal documentation, and participate in an on-call rotation to support production clusters. Collaboration with engineering teams to improve hardware reliability and implementing automation to streamline support workflows are also essential aspects of the role.
Candidates should have experience in data centers, GPU clusters, server deployments, system administration, or hardware troubleshooting. Intermediate knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, or similar) and familiarity with NVIDIA GPUs, SuperMicro systems, Dell systems, and high-performance computing environments are required. Proficiency in networking fundamentals and hands-on experience with firmware updates, BIOS configurations, and driver management are also necessary. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience with scripting and automation tools like Python, Bash, or Ansible are highly valued.
The base salary range for this role is $83,000 to $110,000 annually, with the starting salary determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition to base salary, the total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program.
