Backend Engineer (Golang), Support Group
Wolt is seeking a Backend Engineer with a focus on Golang to join our Support Engineering Group. This team is dedicated to delivering a seamless support experience to over 50 million users and 300,000 partners worldwide. Our mission is to provide fast, effective assistance to every customer, merchant, and courier whenever they need it. We achieve this by building intelligent self-help flows, powerful automations, and a world-class, in-house chat platform that makes obtaining support effortless.
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable applications using Golang for backend microservices. You will architect highly available, distributed systems capable of handling high throughput. Your responsibilities will also include improving system reliability, latency, and observability, participating in on-call rotations, and driving root-cause analysis for production incidents. Additionally, you will mentor engineers, conduct rigorous code reviews, and drive technical decision-making within the team. Collaboration with Product Managers and Designers to define the product and roadmap, ensuring technical constraints and opportunities are understood early, is also a key aspect of this position.
The ideal candidate will have several years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of building and scaling complex systems. Experience working with Golang in production for at least two years is required, along with the ability to mentor others and drive best practices across the team. Strong hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases is essential. A solid understanding of designing and operating low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems is necessary. Experience writing comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests is also expected.
