Backend Engineer (Berlin)

As a Backend Engineer at Trade Republic in Berlin, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining the core systems that power Europe's largest savings platform. Collaborating with a team of skilled engineers, you will contribute to building scalable and reliable backend services that support our mission to provide easy, safe, and free access to the financial system for over 10 million customers across 18 countries.

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and optimizing backend services and APIs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate new features, ensure system performance, and maintain high availability. Additionally, you will be expected to write clean, maintainable code, conduct code reviews, and participate in the continuous improvement of our development processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, with proficiency in languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Go. Experience with microservices architecture, cloud platforms, and database management is essential. A solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, version control, and CI/CD pipelines, is also required.
