The Associate Vice President (AVP) Attorney for Commercial Agriculture at Capital Farm Credit plays a pivotal role in facilitating and overseeing legal aspects of loan transactions and servicing actions within the Commercial Agriculture and Capital Markets sectors. This position is based at the organization's headquarters in College Station, Texas, and involves close collaboration with internal teams and external counsel to ensure timely and compliant loan closings.
Key responsibilities include coordinating with the Commercial Agriculture, Capital Markets, and Document Preparation teams to manage loan transactions and servicing actions. The AVP Attorney is tasked with reviewing closing packages to ensure alignment with credit approvals and providing summaries of terms to relevant staff in participation accounting. Additionally, the role involves preparing loan servicing items and related documentation as needed.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and hold a license to practice law in the State of Texas. A minimum of three years of legal experience is required, with significant work in real estate, lending and financial transactions, and contract law. Specialized knowledge in areas pertaining to real estate, mortgage lending, contracts, debtor/creditor relationships, Farm Credit standards and regulations, and lien perfection and security interests is essential. Proficiency in legal research and intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications are also necessary.
