Plus Power is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Origination & Commercial to join its Legal Team, working closely with the Origination & Commercial Team. This role involves providing legal support for utility-scale standalone storage projects across North America, under the guidance of the General Counsel. Plus Power is a leader in energy storage, with a portfolio exceeding 10 GW across more than 25 states, aiming to transform electric grids into cleaner and more versatile infrastructure.

The Associate General Counsel will partner with the Origination and Commercial Team to negotiate offtake agreements, including tolling agreements and other structured offtake arrangements. Responsibilities also include conducting due diligence and negotiations on M&A opportunities, reviewing requests for proposals, developing comprehensive bid submissions, and coordinating feedback from subject matter experts to refine deal structures and documents. Additionally, the role supports the Finance Team by providing commercial inputs for project finance transactions and oversees outside counsel on select transactions.

Candidates must possess a J.D. degree and have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a top-tier law firm focusing on renewable energy project development. Preferred qualifications include 1-2 years of in-house legal experience with a renewable energy or standalone energy storage developer or investor-owned utility, emphasizing resource procurement and M&A. Experience leading negotiations of power purchase agreements, structuring and negotiating project-scale M&A transactions, and knowledge of project finance structures are essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong business acumen, excellent commercial judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
