Associate Director, Strategy
As an Associate Director, Strategy at Monks, you will provide customer-centric, spatial, and retail strategic expertise for a leading technology client. Your role involves bringing hardware and digital products to life through events, trade shows, pop-ups, in-store activations, and on-device content, collaborating closely with internal leadership to transform brand campaigns into engaging interactive experiences. This position is ideal for a dynamic individual passionate about creating immersive environments and exploring new opportunities in the evolving 'phygital' (physical + digital) landscape, defining how clients' brands operate and connect with consumers in real-world settings.
Key responsibilities include evaluating client objectives and product roadmaps to design compelling physical footprints, such as global trade show booths or local retail pop-ups, and developing retail engagement strategies that enhance product understanding and consideration, particularly for consumer electronics, phones, wearables, and smart home devices. You will strategize the integration of physical events with digital ecosystems to amplify on-ground activations socially and digitally, driving earned media and long-term loyalty. Additionally, you will define success metrics for various experiences, moving beyond foot traffic to measure dwell time, sentiment, and digital behavior and conversions.
The ideal candidate possesses 7 to 9 years of experience in strategy, with at least 5 years in experiential marketing, brand activation, and/or retail strategy. A deep understanding of consumer electronics, hardware, or tech brands is essential, along with strong spatial awareness to analyze floor plans and identify user journeys and engagement opportunities. Experience leading or supporting strategy for major global rollouts or high-impact activations is highly valued. Exceptional communication skills are required to articulate complex ideas into simple, human-centric physical experiences, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with immovable event deadlines is crucial.
