The Associate Director, Commerce Search at WPP Media is a pivotal role within the company's AI-driven media operating unit, WPP Media. This position focuses on leading search-based activations across various retailer media networks, including Amazon, CitrusAd, Criteo, The Trade Desk, and Walmart. The role requires a deep understanding of each platform's search offerings, from self-serve to managed service buys, and involves direct engagement with retail media networks on behalf of clients. The Associate Director will support the Director, Commerce Search, aiming to maximize retail media investments for client accounts.

Key responsibilities include managing a team of direct reports, overseeing search media activations across multiple retailer media networks, and executing campaign setup, bid recommendations, and budgeting to ensure client goal attainment. The role also involves maintaining excellent relationships with key account stakeholders, ensuring ongoing campaign compliance with established guidelines, leading cross-channel testing and optimization strategies, preparing campaign performance reports, synthesizing key data points to identify trends, and addressing technical issues with media campaign serving. Additionally, the Associate Director will stay updated on changing marketplace dynamics surrounding ad products, technology, and measurement across search partners, and manage reconciliation, invoicing/billing, trafficking, and mapping data to the internal media campaign management platform.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Analytics, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or equivalent professional work experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience in biddable performance media execution or paid e-commerce, with a strong preference for retail media search execution, is required. Experience managing a team of direct reports is essential. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is necessary. A deep understanding of retail commercial elements such as profit margin, inventory levels, forecasting, and demand planning to inform media decisions is crucial. Candidates should also have a strong drive to understand the retail landscape and the latest trends in commerce media. Experience with retail bid management platforms, such as Pacvue or Skai, and campaign management and optimization across multiple retail platforms (Amazon, Instacart, Walmart, Target, Kroger, Criteo, Google, Meta, etc.) is highly desirable. The role requires the ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal teams and external partners, a self-starter attitude that thrives in a fast-paced environment, and excellent project-management skills to coordinate projects across multiple teams and functions.

The compensation for this role ranges from $75,000 to $180,000 annually.
