Assistant General Counsel, Labor & Employment
The Assistant General Counsel, Labor & Employment at Strive Health will play a pivotal role in supporting the People Team on a comprehensive range of employment-related matters. This position is integral to ensuring compliance and fostering a positive work environment within the organization.
Key responsibilities include advising on employment law issues such as workplace investigations, terminations, discrimination, harassment, accommodations, compensation, benefits, and recruiting. The role involves collaborating with the People Team and business leaders to design compliant, scalable employment practices, as well as overseeing employment litigation, mediations, EEOC matters, and arbitration. Additionally, the Assistant General Counsel will draft and implement human resources policies, stay updated on employment-related legal topics, and manage contracts with labor and employment-related suppliers and vendors.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor degree and be a member in good standing with at least one state bar. A minimum of five years' experience in labor and employment counseling and litigation, either in a law firm or significant in-house counsel role, is required. A background in labor and employment-related healthcare regulations is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong critical thinking abilities, and a demonstrated history of partnering with business leaders to provide strategic recommendations.
