Analytical Engineer (f/m/d)
Awin is seeking an experienced Analytical Engineer to join their Business Intelligence (BI) team, focusing on building a robust data foundation that supports self-serve analytics across the organization. This role is pivotal in establishing the Analytical Engineering practice, utilizing a modern Databricks stack alongside Tableau and Power BI as primary BI tools. The position is available in Iași, Romania, and Warsaw, Poland.
In this role, the Analytical Engineer will collaborate closely with Data Engineering to develop BI-ready tables that facilitate self-serve analytics. Responsibilities include creating a unified source of truth for business metric definitions, ensuring data quality, and maintaining comprehensive documentation of the semantic layer. The engineer will also work with Insight Analysts to translate business requirements into reliable data models and support BI Developers in effectively utilizing the semantic layer within Tableau and Power BI.
Candidates should possess strong hands-on SQL skills, experience with dbt (Core or Cloud) in a production environment, and familiarity with cloud data warehouses or lakehouses, preferably Databricks. A solid understanding of data modeling concepts, including dimensional modeling and star schemas, is essential. Experience working alongside BI teams and the ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into clear data definitions are also required.
