Analytical Chemistry Director - Eurofins Consumer Product Testing
The Analytical Chemistry Director at Eurofins Consumer Product Testing is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the scientific strategy and operational execution of product safety and quality testing. This position ensures that consumer products comply with global and U.S. standards, including those set by the CPSC, ASTM, and ISO, facilitating the safe sale of products worldwide for major retailers.
Key responsibilities include establishing the vision for analytical programs and aligning testing strategies with broader business goals. The director will oversee the development and validation of new analytical methods for detecting substances such as allergens and heavy metals, ensuring they meet current regulatory expectations. Managing daily laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance and meeting project deadlines, is also a critical aspect of the role.
The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field. A minimum of 10–12 years of experience in analytical chemistry or product testing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, is required. Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, ICP, and Ion Chromatography, along with a deep understanding of CPSC, FDA, USP, and environmental standards like PFAS regulations, is essential.
