Analyst, Financial Business Intelligence
Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, a leading international law firm headquartered in New York City, is seeking an Analyst for their Financial Business Intelligence team. This team is responsible for delivering financial dashboards and data visualizations to support strategic initiatives and drive decision-making across the firm. The ideal candidate will report to the Manager of Financial Business Intelligence and collaborate with various levels of firm personnel to develop innovative solutions for managing the financial aspects of the business.
In this role, the Analyst will develop, test, and deploy business intelligence solutions, with a strong emphasis on Power BI. Responsibilities include analyzing business requirements, creating and maintaining relevant training or design documentation, coordinating with project stakeholders, setting up security measures, monitoring report refresh schedules, and maintaining change management for active reports. Additionally, the Analyst will develop data models for reporting purposes and assist with special projects as assigned.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for degrees in Finance, Computer Science, Business, or Mathematics. A minimum of 2-3 years of related experience in strategic business intelligence is required. Strong experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools is essential, along with proficiency in the MS Office suite, particularly Excel. Experience in developing technical documentation and a working knowledge of database structures, reporting software packages, DAX/MDX, Python, and SQL scripting are also important. Strong communication skills and the ability to apply logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions are crucial.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000 per year. The role is based in New York, NY, and offers a hybrid work schedule. Please note that Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP does not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
