Analyst, Data Privacy
The Analyst, Data Privacy at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is a pivotal role within the firm's global Privacy team, reporting directly to the Director of Data Privacy. This position is integral to supporting the firm's data privacy policies, procedures, and compliance activities, ensuring alignment with the Office of the General Counsel's risk management program.
Key responsibilities include assisting with responses to data subject rights requests, reviewing and tagging documentation for data subject access requests (DSARs), and conducting privacy assessments. The role also involves developing internal privacy documentation, supporting the creation and presentation of privacy training, analyzing current policies, and aiding in the development of new ones as needed. Additionally, the Analyst will help prepare for and respond to personal data breaches, foster relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure data protection by design and default, and stay abreast of regulatory changes in relevant jurisdictions.
Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of data privacy experience, with a strong understanding of global privacy regulations. Essential skills include strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required for this position.
The estimated base salary for this role ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 annually. This is a non-exempt position, making it eligible for overtime pay. Please note that Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP does not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
