Analog IC Design Engineer, High-Speed
The Analog IC Design Engineer, High-Speed, will join Lightmatter’s world-class engineering team to deliver cutting-edge photonic computing solutions for next-generation artificial intelligence and high-performance computing applications. Working at the forefront of semiconductor technology, this role focuses on designing and developing high-speed integrated circuits that power Lightmatter’s revolutionary photonic products. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative projects that blend optics, analog electronics, and advanced packaging technologies in a dynamic, fast-growing company.
In this role, the engineer will lead and support the design, simulation, and verification of high-speed analog circuits, such as transceivers, amplifiers, and clocking circuits, from initial concept through silicon realization. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing transistor-level design work, running layout and post-layout simulations, collaborating closely with systems and packaging teams, and conducting detailed design reviews. The engineer will also help characterize silicon in the lab, resolve circuit and layout issues, and interact with manufacturing partners to ensure successful production ramp-up.
Candidates should have a solid background in high-speed analog or mixed-signal integrated circuit design, ideally with hands-on experience in the CMOS or BiCMOS process. Strong proficiency in simulation tools such as Cadence or Mentor Graphics, a deep understanding of electrical and optical signaling, and experience in the design and tape-out of complex IC products are essential. A Master’s or PhD in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred, along with excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative, innovative mindset.
Lightmatter offers competitive compensation packages that may include stock options, comprehensive health insurance, and generous paid time off. Employees enjoy additional perks such as flexible work arrangements, a well-equipped office environment, and opportunities for continuous learning.
The company fosters a culture of innovation, diversity, and passion for pushing technological boundaries. Joining Lightmatter means being part of a visionary team with exciting growth prospects, where your work will help shape the future of computing.
