Algorithm Developer
Via Transportation, a global leader in transportation technology, is seeking an Algorithm Developer to join their Core R&D team in London. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining Via's proprietary algorithms and the services that run them in production. In this role, the Algorithm Developer will take full ownership of a large and complex codebase that implements Via's core algorithms. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining multiple mission-critical services, with an immediate impact on Via's thousands of daily passengers and clients globally. The developer will work closely with DevOps teams and algorithm developers and researchers to enhance the performance and scalability of Via's transportation solutions.
Candidates should possess an M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of hands-on industry experience in backend development using Python. Experience with DevOps in cloud infrastructure, particularly Kubernetes, and in architecture and maintenance of cloud systems is highly advantageous. A solid background in software engineering methodologies, such as Git and CI/CD, is essential. The ideal candidate is a fast learner, a team player, pragmatic, and concise in their approach to problem-solving.
