AI Extern
BetterHelp is seeking an AI Extern to join our mission-driven team dedicated to making mental health care more accessible. As the world's largest online therapy service, we provide affordable and convenient therapy to millions globally. In this role, you'll collaborate with licensed clinicians, engineers, product professionals, creatives, marketers, and business leaders, all committed to expanding access to therapy and investing in employee well-being and professional development.
As an AI Extern, you'll refine and enhance language models through fine-tuning and retraining, collaborate with product and development teams to design machine learning models, and work closely with product managers to improve product functionality and user experience. Your responsibilities will also include managing and analyzing large text datasets, developing production-ready code, and integrating machine learning models into production environments in partnership with DevOps and ML-Ops teams.
Candidates should be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master's or PhD program in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or Engineering. Required skills include coursework in NLP and LLM, a deep understanding of neural networks, deep learning, and generative AI, familiarity with reinforcement learning, experience building predictive and causal inference models, proficiency in tools like PyTorch or TensorFlow, and excellent communication skills for conveying technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
The hourly rate for this position is $50 - $60 per hour.
