Advisory Systems Engineer - Detroit
Arista Networks is seeking an Advisory Systems Engineer (ASE) to join our Sales Engineering team in Detroit. In this role, you will collaborate with industry experts and technical leaders, reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager. Our team focuses on aligning technological solutions with clients' business objectives, redefining post-sales success, and leading in software-driven networking and automation.
As an ASE, you will serve as a strategic technical advisor and customer success catalyst for established large Marquee accounts or Regional Big Bet accounts. Your primary responsibilities include proactively positioning Arista products to expand account footprints, providing technical assistance for new opportunities, and ensuring customers perform operational health checks and automation maturity assessments. Additionally, you will assist in deploying and integrating CloudVision, APIs, and automation toolsets, support customers in implementing monitoring and provisioning workflows, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement using Arista's open, programmable platforms.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as network consulting, customer success, or solution architecture. Expertise in L2/L3 networking, routing protocols like OSPF, BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, and automation ecosystems including EOS, CloudVision, Ansible, Terraform, and Python is essential. Strong consultative skills, business acumen, and the ability to link technical outcomes to revenue growth are crucial. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities are required. Arista ACE certification is preferred, with a willingness to obtain it within the first 90 days if not already certified. A background in professional services or customer success engineering is advantageous, along with knowledge of data center, cloud, campus, or routing environments.
