Accounting Manager (Rocket Travel by Agoda)

Rocket Travel by Agoda is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our expanding accounting team. This role involves overseeing general accounting duties related to month-end close, accounts payable and receivable processing, treasury functions, and other ad-hoc requests. The position is a Chicago-based contract role slated for a minimum of 9 months, with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities include managing the monthly and year-end close processes, performing high-level reviews of balance sheet and profit and loss accounts, and ensuring financial statement completeness and accuracy. The Accounting Manager will also oversee the monthly account reconciliation process, assist in implementing the SOX Readiness plan, and document procedures accordingly. Additional duties involve reviewing and approving journal entries, overseeing timely processing and reconciliation of invoices, supporting treasury activities, and monitoring employee expenses to ensure compliance with company policies. Managing and developing accounting staff team members is also a critical aspect of this role.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience and a business-related degree, preferably in Accounting. A CPA certification is required. Strong knowledge of Excel and SQL is essential, along with familiarity with Oracle and Salesforce systems. The candidate should possess a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and an analytical approach to problem-solving.

The hourly rate for this position is $57.21, based on a 40-hour workweek.
