Accounting Manager
Bird, a global leader in micromobility, is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee end-to-end close processes and produce comprehensive monthly and quarterly financial statements. Reporting to the VP of Controllership, this role involves serving as a strategic partner to Finance, Treasury, and Operations, implementing structures and internal controls to support the company's rapid expansion. The Accounting Manager will own the General Ledger and reconciliation functions while driving technical projects to ensure compliance in an evolving environment.
Key responsibilities include developing and enforcing a detailed Month-End Close Schedule, preparing monthly close journal entries, and conducting General Ledger account reconciliations. The role also involves preparing monthly consolidated and regional flux analyses, partnering across departments to optimize accounting systems and workflows, assisting with annual audit requests, recording monthly payroll journal entries, and drafting technical memos to ensure US GAAP compliance.
Candidates should possess a university degree or college diploma in Finance or a related discipline, with over six years of experience in accounting or finance, including at least one year of people management experience. A CPA license and thorough understanding of US GAAP are required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate flexibility in a constantly changing environment, strong management and team-building skills, and experience managing multi-entity and multi-national organizations.
The budgeted salary range for this role is $111,900 CAD to $150,000 CAD annually.
