2027 Systems Engineering Intern
Voyager Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern for a 10-week immersive program from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. This opportunity is available at their San Diego, Long Beach, and Pittsburgh locations. As a Systems Engineering Intern, you will support the Systems Engineering team in various activities related to requirements, system architecture, integration, testing, analysis, and technical documentation. This role offers hands-on experience in applying engineering principles to real-world projects, providing exposure to the development, integration, and verification of complex systems.
Your key responsibilities will include assisting with defining, reviewing, decomposing, and tracking system-level requirements; supporting the development and documentation of system architectures, interfaces, and technical specifications; and collaborating with engineering teams and cross-functional partners to support system development and integration activities. Additionally, you will assist with developing, reviewing, and executing test plans, procedures, and other verification activities, participate in system integration, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving activities, and support the collection, analysis, and documentation of engineering data and test results. Maintaining technical documentation and engineering artifacts throughout the development process, participating in engineering reviews, team meetings, technical discussions, training sessions, and other learning opportunities, and contributing ideas for process improvement, engineering efficiency, and operational effectiveness will also be part of your role.
To be considered for this internship, you should be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university, preferably pursuing a degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field. A broad understanding of fundamental engineering principles and systems engineering concepts is essential, along with strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment, strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail are also required. Familiarity with engineering software, modeling tools, requirements management systems, programming languages, or other technical tools is preferred. Additionally, the ability to travel for in-person orientation and program kickoff, as well as for the final presentation at program completion, is necessary.
The hourly pay range for this position is $23.50 to $30.00, determined by academic year, college major, line of business, and geography. This compensation reflects the company's commitment to providing competitive and fair remuneration for their interns.
